The Maternal Child and Health Department provides a variety of services to promote family health. Some of these services include:

Parenting Support:
- Support groups for dads
- Case management with home visits
Partnering with Schools
- Case workers on site at schools
- Parenting, health education, and nutrition classes presented at schools
Promoting Literacy
- Providers give a parents a 'prescription for reading' at their child's well-child exams
- Providers give the child a free book to encourage literacy
