Tri-City Prevention Collaborative
Description:

The Tri-City Prevention Collaborative is a project of the North Coastal Prevention Coalition, with Vista Community Clinic serving as the fiscal agent. The goal of the project is to reduce the harm of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and other drug abuse in the cities of Carlsbad, Oceanside, and Vista, by creating long-term change in the community through the involvement and education of individuals, families, community leaders, health and human service organizations, businesses, local government, and social groups.

Program Name:
Drug Free Communities Program
Description:
North County Drug Free Communities is a program of the North Coastal Prevention Coalition with Vista Community Clinic serving as the lead and fiscal agent. The program is funded by the Office of the National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and it is managed by the SAMHSA's Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP). The goal of the program is to reduce and prevent alcohol, tobacco and other drug use among at-risk youth ages 9 to 12 and strengthen community anti-drug coalitions.

County Tobacco Control Project
Description:
The tobacco control program works to provide reduced exposure to secondhand smoke and to reduce youth access to tobacco products.
The tobacco control program works in preventing secondhand smoke and youth access to tobacco. Currently our projects include: Palmar College as a smoke-free campus, San Marcos parks and recreational areas smoke-free and tobacco retail licensure ordinances in the cities of Carlsbad and San Marcos.

Program Name:
H.E.A.T (Healthy Environments Against Tobacco)
Description:
Tobacco Control works to provide smoke-free environments that encourages smokers to quit, protect public health and protect the environment and marine life.

The Tobacco Control program also works in environmental prevention to support smoke-free Oceanside beaches, pier and parks, a smoke-free Wild Animal Park, and cessation classes to Spanish speakers. Legoland has gone smoke-free and we are currently working to educate the public on this new policy.
