Program Name:
Project HACER (Healthy Adolescents Communicating and Educating Responsibility)
Description:
Project HACER is a state funded project. The goal of the project is for teens in North San Diego County to develop awareness, attitudes, and skills to practice responsible sexual behavior including postponing intercourse, increasing contraception and condom use, and reducing their number of sexual partners.

Program Name:
Project REACH (Recreation, Employment Readiness, Academic Assistance, Communication Skills, and Health Lifestyle)
Description:
The goal of the project is to reduce the incidence of teen pregnancy and youth violence in Oceanside and Vista by improving parent/teen communication skills, increasing the number of teens who postpone sexual involvement, increasing the percentage of teens that practice safer sex, and improving the life skills and life options for teens in the community. This is accomplished through a youth development after-school program for teens ages 12-18. The program has two sites, one in Vista and one in Oceanside.

Program Name:
Project Jr. REACH (Recreation, Employment Readiness, Academic Assistance, Communication Skills, and Health Lifestyle)
Description:
Jr. REACH involves pre-adolescents, ages 9-12 years, in an extensive youth development program that promotes and reinforces abstinences as the appropriate choice for young teens. Jr. REACH operates Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., approximately 46 weeks out of the year. The expected outcomes among participants include: increased knowledge and self-esteem, reduced levels of depression, improved grades/performance in school, and commitment to abstinence.

Choices Teen Clinic
Description:
Vista Community Clinic provides clinical services for teens ages 12-19 at the Vale Terrace site in Vista and at Horne Street in Oceanside.  Teens meet with trained peer counselors who provide referrals to VCC healthcare services such as STD checks, male exams, and family planning.
