REACH
REACH is a free afterschool program for youth in Vista and Oceanside. It began in the mid-1990s and is still the most popular place to be after school.
At REACH, youth ages 11–18 get:
- A cool place to hang out
- Free fieldtrips
- Free snacks
- Help with homework
- Fun activities
- A place where someone will listen
To get involved:
- Call or stop by the center closest to you
- Meet the staff and other youth
- Fill out an intake packet
- Fill out the permission slips
- Come back and bring your friends!
Parents are invited to visit the sites and meet the staff. There are free parent trainings throughout the year on important topics like how to communicate with your teen about difficult subjects, internet safety, drug prevention, and more.

Do you want to REACH . . . higher? Thanks to a partnership with Cal State University San Marcos, youth at REACH Higher get all of the great benefits as the REACH programs (help with homework, adults who care, snacks, fun field trips) and more! They get to know local college students who can help identify and pursue goals.
