Clark, a father of two, use to play sports with his boys, but now his swollen legs only allow him to watch.
Ellen gets tired and thirsty all the time.
What do Clark and Ellen have in common? Both have diabetes and need medical care but don’t have the means to pay for it!
Your donation to Vista Community Clinic’s STEPS Program can help Clark, Ellen and others like them receive the care they need to lead healthier and happy lives. STEPS is a program offered to Vista Community Clinic patients with diabetes. The purpose of STEPS is to provide uninsured or under insured patients with excellent Diabetes care, including diabetes education for prevention of complications caused by diabetes.

If a patient does not have insurance a cash package is available to them.
The cost of the cash package is $575.00 per year and provides the following:
• Consultation with a Nurse Practitioner
• Consultation with Nutritionist
• Blood Test
• Education Classes
• Diabetes Education Materials
• Most Medications
• Annual Retinal Exam
• Podiatry Consultation
 |
Who are the most likely to use the STEPS Program? The working poor! Like Ellen and Clark, they earn too much to qualify for government programs, but not enough to afford health insurance. Without insurance, Clark and Ellen can’t afford the $575 a year to manage the diabetes, so Clark and Ellen’s condition continues to worsen!
You can help! Your donation provides a patient with needed medical care and resources and makes a positive difference in their health and well being.
