Dr. Leonard’s goal is to help her patients feel safe and well cared for, and to provide excellent services for their medical concerns. Prior to joining VCC, she provided women’s health services at a hospital in New Mexico, as well as medical practices in California. She has cared for patients in Haiti, Sri Lanka and Nigeria as a volunteer with Doctors Without Borders. Dr. Leonard’s areas of specializations include high-risk pregnancies, menopausal care, in-office treatment of cervical dysplasia (LEEP procedure) and counseling patients on current recommendations on the Zika virus. A mother of two sons, she enjoys spending time with her family and many outdoor sports including swimming, biking and yoga. She remains active in Doctors Without Borders by helping with recruitment, fundraising and support to field workers.
How do you help your patients “Choose Health”?
I help them by listening to their concerns, obtaining all necessary medical history, and sitting down and reviewing their diagnosis with them. I help them understand their medical issues, and the choices they have regarding treatment and care. I answer their questions and encourage them at all times.”
