Getting an HIV test is the only way to know if you have HIV. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that you should be tested for HIV at least once. The CDC also recommends that you be tested more frequently if you are having unprotected sex or sharing needles. At VCC, we offer confidential, quick and low or no-cost HIV testing. If you do test positive, our wide-range of medical and support services provide you with all the help you need to get treated.

Counseling and Testing

  • Confidential, rapid HIV testing (results within 20 minutes) as well as standard testing
  • Testing at all clinic locations in Vista, Oceanside, Lake Elsinore, and La Habra
  • Immediate support and follow-up for those who test HIV-positive

Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)

  • PrEP is a way for people who do not have HIV, but are at substantial risk of getting it, to prevent HIV infection by taking a pill once a day
  • When taken consistently, PrEP is 90% effective at preventing HIV infection
