VCC Offers Smoking Cessation Program
Quitting smoking is one of the most important things you can do for your health and well-being. VCC will offer Freedom from Smoking, a program that provides the information, tools and tips developed by the American Lung Association to help individuals to quit smoking. The eight-part series of classes is available to VCC patients as well as employees.
Topics include:
- Knowing if you’re ready to quit smoking
- Medications
- Lifestyle changes
- Preparing for quit day
- Coping strategies
- Managing stress
- Avoiding weight gain
- Developing a new self-image
- Strategies to stay smoke-free for good
Class Dates: Feb. 28; Mar. 7, 14, 21, 23 and 28; and April 4 and 11.
Time: 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Location: VCC: Vale Terrace, Women’s Center Classroom 2, 1000 Vale Terrace Drive, Vista
